Now accepting February submissions: Pursuing Health

by Editor @ Stop Chasing Skinny on January 14, 2012

I hope you’re enjoying the Skipping the January Diet series this month! So far:

Many more to come over the next couple of weeks!

This morning on Twitter my friend Jennifer (If You Want to Quit Barfing by Jennifer Molica) turned me on to this awesome scale:

Yay! You Yay! Scale from VoluptuArt.com

Don’t you love it?!

This fabulous scale pushed me to consider the February topic for this community blog.  I think overall readers and writers alike have agreed on one thing here.  While we love the idea of stopping the chase for skinny — we are mostly committed to continuing (or beginning) to pursue health.  We are less interested in the number on the scale or size on our jeans. We are more interested in redefining what healthy means outside of a number.

So I turn to you, readers/writers/community:

  • Now that you have stopped chasing skinny, how do you pursue health?
  • If you haven’t stopped chasing skinny, but want to and are very interested in being healthy at the size you are right now, how are you doing it?

I will kick things off in February — which gives me a few weeks to think about this for myself.  Please, won’t you consider writing a “Pursuing Health” post for February?

This is a community blog and your voice matters. It’s central, actually.  If you’ve written for Stop Chasing Skinny in the past, submit a new piece for February!  If you haven’t yet written and this month’s topic resonates, submit! If you want to write something, but the February topic isn’t quite right for you, what topic do you want to write about?  I’m listening!
