Let’s talk boobs

by Editor @ Stop Chasing Skinny on October 30, 2011

Last weekend I had lunch with a friend who I have not seen much over the last couple of years — we worked together for two years and suddenly, when I left for a new job, we just didn’t see each other as much.

We settled down at our table and she, whispering, asked “are you taking hormones?” I replied, “no” (while thinking “how old does she think I am?!”)  I replied with my own question, “Why do you ask?”

“Your breasts are huge!”

“Oh!” I exclaimed.  “I got them when I stopped chasing skinny! Aren’t they great?!”

Yep, suddenly I have boobs. They aren’t huge. But they are bigger, no denying that.  Today I did the deed and got properly measured for new bras.  I’m now wearing a C Cup! How crazy is that?

Just another interesting thing happening to my body as I settle into a truly happy place instead of trying to force myself into a perceived place of happiness.

Even when I was at a healthy weight, I didn’t really have boobs, but I did have more than I have now and shapely little hips. I miss not looking like a 12-year-old boy. If only it wasn’t so hard to get over that mountain, both physically and mentally! Day to day–boobs for the (motivational) win!

I have always had small boobs, from the very start!! I would be fine with bigger ones, but then I am happy not to pay forty dollars for bras!!!! :)
And happy hormones can be for women of any age!!!! If they are bioidentical, think of it like happy soy!! Or just replacements for the things birth control pills are used for, aside from contraception!!!!
On boobs though, most of the girls in my fam have major boobs!!!!
    Not dependent on their weight!

Funny how the grass is always greener. I’ve had boobs since early university (late bloomer) and always wished they were smaller – they can be quite a nuisance for sports, and I have worked hard to “dress them down” when in professional settings. Even when I lost some weight, the boobs stayed. I’m starting (finally!) to embrace the fact that the boobs and hips are part of me.

Well that’s cool. I love my B cups though. I’m too small for anything bigger.

I love this just as much as I love the longer inspirational stories here. It’s just a reminder that the little (or bigger…) things matter just as much as the major revelations in the journey to loving your body!

I love girlfriend lunches for the great conversation topics! BTW, I think you are gorgeous and I love the way you appreciate your body. We should all love/appreciate our bodies.
